Create a Single Paragraph Short Blog that has Same Impact as any Long Blog
There will be a time in your blogging career when you will have to write a single paragraph blog or a short blog that can still provide value to your readers.
Or, you may have to write a small social media post.
Whatever be the situation, you need to be skilled to create a short blog post.
5 Steps to Write an Interesting “One Paragraph” Short Blog
1. What is That One Keyword that you can call the Main Idea of Your Short Blog?
Don’t get into telling a lot in one blog. Focus just on one message that you want to convey through your blog.
Let’s use one example. The one main idea of this blog is – “One Paragraph Blog” or “Short Blog”.
2. Create a Meaningful Sentence based on Your Keyword or phrase. You can call this as your blog’s Topic Sentence.
The Topic Sentence based on the above keyword can be – “Writing a One Paragraph Blog is Very Simple”
This is going to be the first sentence of your one paragraph blog.
3. Develop 5 – 7 Points that Supports and Revolves around your Topic Sentence.
Invest a good amount of time in this. This is going to form the bulk of your blog. Think what benefits do you want your readers to reap from your short blog. Write the key points based on that. You need not write in complete sentences. As of now you can just jot down your ideas. No Need even to put them in order. Just let your thoughts flow.
4. Now You are ready to Put Your Ideas into a logical Sequence.
Start numbering the ideas that you have jotted down. Give them the number that they will appear in your one paragraph blog. You can mark the idea 1 if it is going to be your first sentence after the topic sentence. Mark 2 for another idea that is going to be next, and so on.
Putting your ideas in proper sequence will help your blog have a smooth flow and will be easy for your readers to read and understand.
What we have achieved in the above four steps is the skeleton of our blog. It’s just a pre – write.
Now comes the exciting part.
5. Write your ideas in interesting and complete sentences.
Did you notice one thing in this step?
You don’t have to break your mind thinking what next should you write. You have to just focus on how creatively can you construct your sentence based on the points you have jotted down.
Your focus is instantly shifted to creating intelligent phrases that your readers will love reading and sharing.
Let’s see how you can do it…
Once again, what was the Topic Sentence?
“Writing a One Paragraph Blog is Very Simple”
We can go ahead and expand on the topic sentence to make it interesting. Here’s what we can add –
“If you follow the given steps, you can come out with an interesting one paragraph blog within minutes.”
Not bad, is it?
Can you think of any other way to expand on your topic sentence?
Now go ahead and take the first sentence that you numbered. Ask Yourself – ‘How can I construct an interesting sentence based on this idea?’
Go ahead and experiment with multiple sentences till you come up with something really exciting.
C’mon! Enjoy the process. Don’t get bored.
Have you completed your 5 -7 sentences?
It’s time to conclude your one paragraph short blog.
Your conclusion should be as interesting as your favourite sweet dish after a three course meal.
Closing sentence has a three fold purpose –
- You can use it as a summary of your key idea.
- Do you still need to add some final thoughts to your idea? Use your concluding statement to express it.
- This is for bloggers who want to move on to another paragraph of the same blog. Use it as a transition to smoothly take your readers to the next paragraph of your blog.

Before I Wrap Up…
Using these simple steps, writing a short blog will become a cake walk.
You can use the above mentioned steps to even write long blog posts.
After you have learnt the steps of writing a full fledged long blog, all you need to do is focus on one paragraph at a time. And when you come to the end of your paragraph, just use the concluding line to make a smooth transition to the next paragraph.
Repeat the process till you complete your blogpost.
